Burt Shavitz, aka "The Bee Man" and co-founder to his namesake beauty brand, Burt's Bees, passed away this weekend. He was 80 years old.
"We remember him as a bearded, free-spirited Maine main, a beekeeper, a wisecracker, a lover of golden retrievers and his land. Above all, he taught us to never lose sight of our relationship with nature," the company said in a statement.
We're saddened by the loss of a man who contributed to one of the most recognizable beauty brands in the world. But his name lives on with some of the best all-natural products of all time.
