A gaggle of stars came together last night at amfAR's Inspiration Gala, and the unofficial dress code might as well have been Tom Ford. The designer was being honored for his philanthropic work, and plenty of Hollywood showed their appreciation by wearing his clothes. More important, it was the realization of something I've been waiting for ever since Ford showed his latest spring collection in September. Back then, after viewing the supremely sexy range, all I could do was pick my jaw off the floor, gather the most scandalous outfits of the entire thing to share with you guys and wait for someone to wear one.
There was Rihanna, in this underwires-plus-pasties gown, and it looks like she styled it just as it was shown on the runway, neck scarf and thigh-highs included. When I saw that dress come down the runway, I figured it'd be altered a little to make it not so...naked, but seeing Rihanna in it is giving me a total "Duh" moment. Hello, this was the woman who wore a see-through dress to one of fashion's biggest awards shows.
Miley Cyrus wore another spring '15 runway look, and I've gotta praise Sophia for some spooky psychic intuition on this one. Mere moments after Tom Ford had shown this collection, I got an email from her that basically said he'd gone all Miley on us. She was initially referencing Miley's dalliance with pasties, but honestly, everything was pitch-perfect for the pop star's preferred brand of shocking sexy.
My third entrant for sexiest of the night is Alessandra Ambrosio, who looked stunning in Zuhair Murad. I love, love, love his dresses, and this was a pretty fantastic idea of why they're so amazing. The shape is beyond elegant, but the play of sheer and embellishments gives us a major peek at her world-famous curves. Together, it makes for a sleek-but-sexy look that can be hard to accomplish
