Align is a new dating app that uses your sign to serve up various potential love matches each day in the hopes that your compatibility will be out of this world. Here's how it works: You download the iOS app, then log in with Facebook and enter your birthday. Align figures out your sign, then asks you to choose a bunch of related adjectives and, even better, emojis to represent various personality traits that are common to your sign, but that you also think apply to you in real life. This will all show up on your profile while other users are perusing, so they get a quick personality snapshot.
Every day, Align will send you five matches based on your astrological compatibility. They load them onto a pretty image of a galaxy, with the size of each person's profile picture representing how much of a match Align's algorithm thinks you are.
They'll also send you a "love meter" and do a deeper dive with a compatibility report based on your personalities. If you and your suggested match both agree, you'll be notified and have the opportunity to start chatting via Align's private messaging system.
