It was only a matter of time before the makeup technique strobing (the strong highlighting move that's taken over cheekbones on Instagram) migrated down to the body. Not only are we seeing it pop up on the limbs of a lot on celebrities like model Kate Upton, *Ex Machina *star Alicia Vikander, and actress Gabrielle Union this week, but makeup artist Val Garland gave the models at the spring-summer 2016 New York Fashion Week Hervé Léger show an ultra-shiny glow across their shoulders and collarbones, as well as down their arms and shinbones. Sure, body shimmer has been around forever, but suddenly it's all taken a turn for the more obvious. Why? She explained, "When you have highlighter on your body it makes you look tighter—it makes you look like you have more muscle." Her tip: She mixed several sparkly creams together to get a multitonal body shimmer ("It gives you more dimension"). The four shades were MAC Strobe Cream in Gold, Peach, Silver, and Red, all of which will be available this winter. In the meantime, you can try mixing loose shimmer eye shadows in soft pinks, golds, and silvers into your favorite body lotion to get a similar effect.
