Important breaking Instagram news, people: Starting today, April 27, Instagram will be enabling EMOJI HASHTAGS—both solo and in combination. You know what that means? Now you can hashtag and sort your searches by smiling poop and smiling heart poop combos. Brilliant.
"Over the past few years, emojis have become part of a universal visual language, not to mention a lot of fun," according to the Instagram announcement. "Starting Monday, April 27, emojis will now work within hashtags, so you can add them to your posts, search for them on the Explore page, and tap on them in captions. You can use a single emoji, multiple emoji, or combine text and emoji to make your hashtags even more creative."
