Whatever Your Plans Are This Weekend, Try This Simple-but-Amazing Fall Outfit

What are you doing this weekend? And, important question: What will you be wearing? When I saw this photo of Kate Bosworth, something, stylistically, clicked for me immediately. I love nearly every part of it—and not just because this fall weekend outfit holds the solution to a style conundrum I've had for a while now. I told you guys how this was going to be the fall when I figured out how to wear a jaunty silk scarf, and while it hasn't quite happened yet, I also haven't tried too hard (oops!). My biggest question was how to make the accessory feel modern and young and not like I was dressing up as a chic Parisian for Halloween. Well, that, my friends, is how you do it. Kate didn't twist hers into a thin, ropey thing but folded it more how you imagine a handkerchief around the neck of a cowboy hanging (but turned it so the knot was in front, rather than in back). Pairing it with a striped shirt or a blazer might've felt too precious or preppy, so she kept the rest of her outfit SO simple with a white T-shirt, 3x1 skinny jeans, and Triple Graces

Well, that, my friends, is how you do it. Kate didn't twist hers into a thin, ropey thing but folded it more how you imagine a handkerchief around the neck of a cowboy hanging (but turned it so the knot was in front, rather than in back). Pairing it with a striped shirt or a blazer might've felt too precious or preppy, so she kept the rest of her outfit SO simple with a white T-shirt, 3x1 skinny jeans, and Triple Graces sunglasses. Ahhh, I just love it.

And the boots. I'm not sure if I would've gravitated toward them if I just saw them sitting on a store shelf, but on Kate, they look absolutely amazing. They're Coach, and the combo of warm brown leather, cozy shearling, and a chunky platform is so unexpected, but definitely now (buy them here).

What's your idea of a perfect fall outfit? This, with the addition of a simple sweater for warmth, would be mine.
